Big Brother Needn’t Be Watching You
Background:
Scyron is a rare UK technology company with genuine innovation in the burgeoning market for security and surveillance
Objectives:
- Reposition & build the Scyron brand with key stakeholders
- Educate on Scyron’s intelligent, incident-recognition technology with which to support the protection of civil liberties – in contrast to blanket CCTV surveillance

Strategy:
Reposition and rebrand Scyron complemented by a PR campaign ‘Big Brother Needn’t Be Watching You’ to capitalise on the company’s unique ‘intelligent, incident-based surveillance software and service’. To capture attention, the campaign was undertaken with key stakeholders in the media & Government ahead of the revised CCTV code of conduct
Results:
- Repositioned & rebranded the Scyron brand with a new visual identity – appealing to senior decision makers whom the company had not previously reached
- In under 12 months, increased awareness with key stakeholders such as the Government and the Police Services. Also, media coverage has increased by over 85% - projecting a profile for Scyron outside local media to national print & broadcast as well as targeted vertical media including the security and police sectors
- The Scyron brand & profile was raised to an exponential level which resulted in attracting venture capital to facilitate expansion
